“Holy crap, an update?!” There, I took the words right out of your mouth! To be honest, in some ways I can’t believe I’ve gone this long ( 5 months!! ) without making a post. And in other ways I can. My life has been an absolute roller coaster! My hubby and I went to Tokyo at the end of March to see the cherry blossoms bloom, and came home to find out that he’d been laid off. He’s been searching for a job since, and now has some very good chances at a couple of local places. For most of last month, I thought we were going to end up moving across country to California! >.< Talk about adding stress to my life. So, I’ve been busy working downtown as much as I can at a temp job to help make ends meat. But that hasn’t been the only thing I’ve been working on.
Nocturnal Fate, Book 1 of the Lightwalker Novelette Series, has been updated. Nothing too major, just corrected a few typos that had been found and edited the formatting a bit so it would have the chance to be submitted to the Apple store and a few other online retailers. To get the new copy on your Amazon Kindle or B&N Nook, try archiving and then un-archiving the book. If you purchased the book from Smashwords, all you have to do is re-download it, I believe. If not, feel free to message me, and I will send you a coupon for a new download.
News on Book 2. I know there’s been a lot of asking as to when this will come out. The answer, I hope, is soon. Darkest, Book 2, was first submitted to my critique group earlier this year. Not only was it partially finished, but they tore it apart- in a good, constructive way. Since then I’ve been working to bring it up to the standard that I think it should be, and the good news is that the 2nd draft is finished and back in the capable hands of my group. We’ll be meeting the last week of this month to talk about it. And as long as it isn’t torn apart again, we’re looking at an end of August release. Yay!!
I’ve also been working on some other projects, that I hope to upload to Smashwords as free reads that you can download. These are just little shorts that I’ve been working on for contests and free writing seasons. They include Safe by the Sea and one of my favorties, Something Else Entirely. I’ve also just started the 2nd draft of my NaNo 2011 novel, Snatched, and hope to have that out by Christmas this year. It’s a full length, fantasy-romance novel that I’m just dying to share with you.
I’ll be participating in Camp NaNo next month as well. My goal is to complete the first draft of the 3rd book of the Lightwalkers series, Before the Dawn.
There’s a lot going on at the moment. I’ve just been trying to keep myself from falling apart, or being torn in too many directions. But there has been progress, and I’m looking forward to reading your comments on Darkest. ^.^
